2015 SKODA Superb

Revealed at the Geneva Motor show, the SKODA Superb has been met with fantastic reviews

Although UK delivery is not expected until September, the Superb seems to be living up to its name judging by what the professionals have to say.

What's new?
28mm longer than its predecessor with an expanding waist of 47mm and a stretched wheelbase with an extra 80mm between the axles, which is noticeable within the interior. Due to this there is an allowance for an extra 30 litres of boot space.

What trims are available?

The Superb will be available in four trims: S, SE, SE L Executive and top spec Laurin & Klement (L&K).

Although the basic model, the S comes with an impressive spec including 16 inch Alloy Wheels, digital radio and Bluetooth, LED rear lights and leather steering wheel.

SE models build on that with 17 inch alloys, cruise control, rear parking sensors, air conditioning and a 6.5 inch touch screen and Smart link.

The SE L Executive boasts 18 inch alloy wheels, a large 8 inch touchscreen, leather upholstery with heated front seats and bi-Xenon headlights.

The L&K model offers a touch of luxury with upgraded interior, an exclusive 18 inch alloy wheel design, tri-zone climate control, a Canton sound system, dynamic chassis control and several driver assistance systems.

Pulman Golf Day

Monday 29th June 2015 marks Pulmans annual charity Golf Day at the prestigious Close House Golf Club

Playing on the fantastic Lee Westwood Filly Course, the Pulman Charity Golf day donates 100% of all funds raised on the day to charity!

Since the start of this event 7 years ago Pulman have generated over £100,00 for charity, with 2014 beating all previous years and reaching a huge £34,000.

Pulman's two chosen charities are CHUF (Children's heart unit foundation) and Newcastle Freeman hospital heart unit.
These charities do amazing work for children and adults of all ages who are dangerously ill and come from all areas of the country to be treated by the expert doctors and nurses.

Part of the day includes an auction for people to bid on prizes collected from various companies across the region who have made the donation to help us raise the highest amount we can for our chosen charities. We also give businesses the opportunity to sponsor an area of the day such as the "hole in one" competition as well as each of the 18 holes. We are open to any prizes, products and vouchers offered by location businesses to get involved and help us achieve our goal. Remember 100% of funds raised go to these fantastic charities!

New Scirocco GTS Revealed

The exclusive GTS trim revealed with new 18-inch alloy wheels

Auto Shanghai was the event chosen to unveil the new 220PS turbocharged petrol engine capable of 0-62mph  in a very impressive 6.5 seconds. With a top speed of 152mph it marks the comeback of the straight forward, fast and exclusively-equipped sports car.

Exterior

With visible red brake calipers, the standard 18"'Norwich' alloy wheels are impressive, however there is an upgrade option for 19" 'Lugano' alloy wheels. The R-Line exterior looks as standard, with the addition of special addition bumpers, custom side sill extensions, a roof spoiler and a diffuser. Thee is also an option for decorative red stripes running through the centre of the bonnet.

Interior 

The interior is largely black and red, with customisation highlights such as GTS badges on the sill panel mouldings, customised sports steering wheel and upgraded infotainment systems such as Composition Media and Discover Navigation.


The launch date of the new Scirocco GTS in Europe is estimated at May 2015, however a specific UK date has yet to be released.

2015 SEAT Alhambra

SEAT's MPV has had a face lift! 

The new and improved Alhambra is expected to go on sale in May, featuring new styling tweaks and improved engine efficiency.

The practical car comes with an impressive basic spec including SEAT's latest Easy Connect touchscreen infotainment system, with faster processing power and more connectivity features. A multi-collision auto brake system is now standard fit, along with Dynamic Chassis Control and Blind-Spot Sensor. 

Jurgen Stackmann, chairman of the executive committee at SEAT comments "It's compelling concept combines the very best functionality and state-of-the-art technology with an excellent standard of quality and workmanship. Plus, in true SEAT fashion, it offers incredible value for money."

The new version is 15% more efficient than the previous model thanks to mechanical tweaks and new technology such as a coasting function on the DSG automatic gearbox.  It is available it two 2.0 diesel engines, 149bhp and 181bhp as well as a 1.4 TSI 149bhp engine. 

Inside, there are new trim colours, a Leon steering wheel design as well as key-less entry and start system. 

The new SEAT Alhambra was given 5/5 by WhatCar? and described as "Incredibly spacious and practical, it's also refined and good to drive. All versions are well equipped."

New 2015 Volkswagen Transporter 6 revealed

Expected in the UK later this year, the Transported 6 makes its debut in Amsterdam

The new transporter is said to be more car-like than ever, with a full width grille and full LED headlights (higher spec models). With well established Volkswagen safety and security features employed in Volkswagen cars including adaptive cruise control and electric tailgate and reversing camera.

The inside is said to be as recognizable  as a Polo or Passat, using the same interior layout and infotainment systems.

The Caravelle, Shuttle and California models in the usual VW diesels with Euro 6-complaint powerplants and the Transporter panel van has Euro 5-compliant units.

The panel van will be first on the scene in the UK, shortly followed by the Caravelle and Shuttle and with the California model towards the end of the year.

Trio of Golf Estates are open for ordering!

The Golf GTD Estate, Golf R Estate and Golf Alltrack are now opening for ordering

Start of production is the week commencing 25th May for all three models, with first customer deliveries due in August 2015.


Golf GTD Estate

The car's sporty character is reflected in it's exterior design, with GTD bumpers and honeycomb radiator grill.  Coming as standard on the GTD are Bi - Xenon headlights, progressive steering and sports suspension with ride height lowered by 15mm, all to ensure greater comfort whilst driving. 17" Curitiba alloy wheels combined with black roof rails and dual chrome tailpipes complete the look. It is optional however to upgrade the GTD to 18" Nogaro alloy wheels and seat covers in the choice of Alcantara or Vienna leather.

The interior boasts illuminated door sills, black headliner and black pillar trims as well as sports seats in Clark Tartan, coupled with decorative inserts and panels in checkered black. Optional extras include the sports design package including red brake calipers and tinted windows.

Engine size available: 2.0 TDI 184 PS in 6SPD or DSG

Golf R Estate

The Golf R Estate sits 20mm lower than the original Estate, on adaptive dampers and features qua exhaust tailpipes and a gloss black diffuser with distinctive aero flaps on the D-pillars. Driving all four wheels using VW's 4Motion system via a 6speed DSG automatic gearbox, the motor produces 380Nm of troque from just 1,800rpm, ensuring accelartion from either a standstill or at speed is rapid.  From 0-62mph takes just 5.1 seconds (only 0.2 seconds slower than the hatchback version of the Golf)

Inside has the familiar Golf R flair, with Alcantara or leather sports seats are optional, as well as ambient lighting and carbon dashboard trim. The boot is unchanged from the standard Golf Estate as it already came equipped with an impressive 605 litres.

Golf Alltrack

The Golf Alltrack blends rugged looks, a raised suspension and an all-wheel-drive platform with the efficiency and practicality of a family estate car.  

With re-designed boot bumpers and roof rails, neat wheelarch mouldings and flared sills to protect from off road damage the visual changes are very noticeable.

Although the interior changes are minimal, equipment includes climate and cruise control, a touchscreen infotainment system and a Driver Alert system.

Pulman Volkswagen Durham Refurbishment

Our Durham showroom is getting a full refurbishment from April 2015!

The aim of the refurbishment is to give the showroom a lighter, brighter feel, making the process of purchasing a car that little bit more enhanced.
New technology such as an apple TV introduced in the showroom will add ease to the process of configuring the perfect car and provide a visual aid on a large scale, which has previously been unavailable.

Throughout the refurbishment the showroom will be transported to an on-site temporary showroom facility and remain open 7 days a week to allow as little disruption to our valued customers as possible. The Pulman workshop and service centre will also operate as normal.

To ease customers into the new showroom dynamic there will be VIP valet parking on the site to take away that worry for customers.

We are in the process of transforming the temporary showroom and setting up temporary office space.

SKODA Passes the Million Car Milestone

SKODA Create New History For The Brand

2014 saw the Czech company create a new history, selling over 1 million cars in annual global sales. Total sales reached 1,037,200, up an impressive 12.7% from 2013 sales. Over a quarter of the sales came from within the Chinese market and 75,418 in Britain.

SKODA famously began as a bicycle maker in 1895 before venturing into the automotive industry and continues to go from strength to strength winning a plethora of awards in recent years.

The most recent award titles by SKODA was the highly coveted 'Red Dot Award' for the new Fabia for its fantastic design. This is the eighth SKODA model series to have been awarded the prize, and hopefully many more to come!
