The Geneva Motor show is one of the biggest motor shows of the year, manufactures from around the world showcase their new models due to make a presence on the European market. 

This year is no compromise; with Volkswagen, SEAT & SKODA all set to take centre stage. 

New models from the Volkswagen Group are set to make their debuts, where there is great anticipation for their arrival in Pulman showrooms across the North East.

Also on show at the Geneva Motor Show are the latest concept cars from the Volkswagen group brands, which is always a very exciting time for all motor fans.

Update on the new £2million ŠKODA Bespoke showroom due to open soon in Belmont Durham

It’s a very exciting time for Pulman and we want to share the progress on our fantastic new ŠKODA site due to open in Belmont, Durham.

Construction on the new site has been moving at a swift pace during the winter months and the fantastic new site is starting to take shape.

The images below will give a general overview of the site layout, as the site starts to develop further we will announce progress updates and reveal the launch date in the near future.

The new site will have a 9-car facility showroom and a new in-house Café Dafte with fresh food prepared daily. The new Pulman ŠKODA site will be located just of the A690 at Dragonville Industrial Estate, Belmont Durham.

Pulman ŠKODA wins New Car ŠKODA Dealer of the Year Award!

These are exciting times for Pulman ŠKODA, with a brand new site about to open and being crowned ŠKODA New Car Dealer of the Year by ŠKODA UK.

Each year ŠKODA UK awards the top performing ŠKODA dealers from their 128 strong dealer network. Pulman ŠKODA were recognised for achieving the best new car performance across the UK network and for looking after their customers.

Pulman ŠKODA launched a pop-up showroom near the Arnison centre in the summer of 2014. Just over 18 months later, they are recognised as the best new car dealer in the entire ŠKODA UK network and with a  brand new showroom in Belmont Durham due to open in April 2016 it’s a fitting accolade to take to the new site.

Ian continues: “We are all very excited to be moving to the new £2-million-pound showroom when it launches in April. The site will allow us to offer an even bigger selection of new and used cars, aftersales and fleet services and an on-site Café that will be open to the general public.”

The new site will have a 9-car showroom, in-house café with fresh food prepared daily and in a first for the motor industry a yoga studio offering a wide range of classes for all abilities, certainly something you do not see every day in a car showroom. The sites location just off the A690 at Dragonville Industrial Estate, Durham makes it accessible from a wide area across the region.

The good news hasn't stopped at the this award, this week Ian was accredited as a fully qualified ŠKODA Sales Manager, one of only a handful in the UK after completing a rigorous assessment workshop.

The New Volkswagen Tiguan – Set to land in the UK Spring 2016.

The New Tiguan is due to open for ordering this Spring.  The stunning 4x4 certainly won’t disappoint, with refined engines and the latest in-car technology it’s set to make a big impression at the official launch at the Geneva Motor show which takes place in March.

Efficient Engines

Eight engines are available in both manual and DSG transitions with outputs ranging from 115ps to 240ps. Despite the increase in power, all engines are up to 24 percent more fuel efficient than the previous Tiguan.

Available in both petrol and diesel engines, customers have the choice of either a two or four-wheel drive.

In Car Technology

In-Car Connectivity Software Car-net will enable drivers to stay online.  App Connect – three innovative technologies that allow you to bring smartphone apps onto your infotainment system’s touchscreen: the established MirrorLink™ apps, the new CarPlay™ function from Apple, and the Android Auto™ function from Google. Volkswagen is the first manufacturer to offer a choice of three interfaces to connect up smartphones.

Guide and inform features will keep you better informed when driving. From the news and weather, to online traffic and parking information, everything is at the touch of your fingertips.

In addition to Car-Net App-Connect and Guide and Inform, the Tiguan will be the first model in the Volkswagen range to have access to Car-Net Safety and Security services, such as automatic accident notification, giving you even greater peace of mind.

Driving Technology features

The new Tiguan includes the new 4MOTION Active control; this will enable drivers to adjust the all-wheel drive system to suit all driving conditions.

Safety is no compromise when it comes to the new Tiguan, several assistance systems come as standard for greater convenience, dynamism and safety. These include Front Assist with City emergency braking, pedestrian motoring, lane assist and automatic-post-collision braking system.

Refined Space

Inside the new model, there’s a lot more space for passengers to ensure a comfortable journey for all. Boot Capacity is up to 615 litres as standard, however be prepared for space once the seats are folded down. Capacity will increase to an impressive 1,655 litres, giving you a further 145 litres to the previous model.

18th Million Car rolls of the ŠKODA Production Line in the Czech Republic

ŠKODA is celebrating the production of the 18^th Million vehicle built since manufacturing started in 1905.

The landmark vehicle to roll off the production line at ŠKODA’s Kvasiny plant in the Czech Republic was a Superb Estate in candy white. The facility also builds the Superb Saloon and Yeti.

Around 150,000 ŠKODA vehicles were produced in 2015 at the Kvasiny plant in the Czech Republic, which employs around 4,500 workers.  The Kvasiny plant recently opened a new pilot hall with 50 new employees. The team here will receive technical information three years before production of a ŠKODA model begins to ensure best processes are put in place.

Once the current expansion of the plant is complete, a further 1,300 people will be employed at the Kvasiny plant. This upgrade will lead to over 280,000 cars being produced a year.

Pulman Volkswagen Support Local Sixth Form Student in his quest to Operation Wallacea in Mexico!

A local sixth form student Harry from St Leonard's Catholic School in Durham, is travelling to Mexico this summer to join Operation Wallacea.

Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities, who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes.  

Harry along with his school peers will work along scientists and local communities to collect data in both the rain forest and on the coral reefs. This data will be used to encourage sustainable use of the land and reefs by the local people.

Harry commented “I feel very passionate about wildlife conservation and feel the work carried out by Operation Wallacea is valuable for the protection of forests and wildlife from deforestation and hunting”.

Harry needs to raise a total of £2,650 from various events to fund the project. To achieve his grand total Harry has organised numerous fundraising events, the next big event takes place at Chester Le Street Golf Club on 4^th March 2016.

Pulman Volkswagen got word of Harry’s work and jumped at the chance to support such a great project. Pulman Volkswagen kindly donated a prestige Autoglym Kit as a raffle prize to help Harry reach his target.
