New 2015 SEAT Ibiza Revealed with 88g/km diesel

The new SEAT Ibiza Super-mini has been revised to feature improved engines and new technology

Although a completely new Ibiza is expected within the next two years, this update debuted at the Barcelona motor show features a more efficient engine line up, extra safety equipment and new connectivity technology.

The look of the Ibiza now features LED daytime running lights, two new alloy wheel deigns and two new choices of paint colour. Inside, the infotainment system represents the most change, featuring mirror link technology,  DAB digital radio and voice control. SEAT says the new system is operated by a new, easier to use interface and works with Apple and Android smartphones integrating with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new safety equipment includes a "Tired Recognition System" to monitor driver fatigue. There is also a Multi-Collision Brake, automatically slowing the car down after a crash, even turning on the hazard warning lights to warn other drivers.

The engine and suspension update features the option of adaptive dampers and a new engine line up.

The entry level model is a 1.0 litre three cylinder petrol engine with 75 bhp. However the upgrade which offers more power is a 94bhp or 102 bhp 1.0 Eco TSI unit (available with SEAT's DSG dual-clutch gearbox.) The other options are a 1.4 TDI 74bhp which emits 88g/km, the most frugal of all engines available, also available in 89bhp and 104bhp.

There are three launch offers available in the UK, the standard entry level S model, SE models have air conditioning and a colour touch screen as standard and the sportier FR model featuring some racier design touches.

The new 2015 SEAT Ibiza will be available in the UK from August this year at Pulman SEAT,
