The New Tiguan opens for ordering on Friday 1st July. Prices start from £21,085 with the first customer deliveries expected to arrive in the UK in September.

Hosting a range of different technologies with a design that’s inspired by its big brother the Touareg, the new Tiguan features new two-part L-shaped light clusters at the rear externally and New Trim and Upholsteries in the Cabin.

 New Features included:
– New 2.0-litre 140 PS 4MOTION BlueMotion Technology engine
– New alloy wheel designs

– Optional RNS 315 sat-nav system

Like it's Predecessor, the latest Tiguan is unique in being available not only with a choice of two- or four-wheel drive, but also with the option of two front ends.

Whichever version is chosen, all new-look Tiguans are dominated by horizontal lines on the front grille, bringing the model into line with the rest of the Volkswagen range.

SEAT’S RACE WINNER SET FOR GATESHEAD APPEARANCE

A group of students from Gateshead College are aiming to recreate SEAT’s legendary World Touring Car Championship-winning car after being given an example of the road-going model on which it was based.

Motorsport students at Gateshead College’s
Skills Academy with the road-going car
they will attempt to transform into a replica
of SEAT’s legendary WTCC winner.

The SEAT Leon TDI was donated to the Skills Academy for Automotive, Engineering, Manufacturing and Logistics at Team Valley by the sporty Spanish car maker and its Sunderland retail partner, Pulman SEAT, as part of an initiative to develop young automotive talent.

Now students enrolled on the BTEC National Award/Diploma in Motorsport course will attempt to transform the stylish and poised hatchback – a firm favourite with families – into a working replica of the race car that powered SEAT to back-to-back WTCC Manufacturer titles in 2008 and 2009 and won the Drivers’ title for both Gabriele Tarquini and Yvan Muller.

Meanwhile, bodyshop students will beef-up the road-going
Leon’s looks as their paintshop counterparts recreate the WTCC Leon’s striking yellow and green livery.

And, if all goes well, the college team hopes they may be able to enter the finished car in competitive touring car races with the help of their partners from professional team Tornado Motorsport.

Kevin Marston, Head of Automotive at Gateshead College said: ‘Our courses aim to give our students a direct route into Motorsport and most of them come here because they have a real passion for racing.

‘Transforming this Leon into a replica of the famous WTCC-winning car will be a major project that will keep the students busy for quite some time.  And it will be fantastic for them to work towards recreating such a modern racing car and one which was so successful.

‘We’re incredibly grateful to SEAT UK and Pulman SEAT for this donation.  Hopefully, this will be the start of a successful partnership.’

Natalie Wilson, Marketing Manager, and Emma Brydon,
Graduate Trainee, handing over the SEAT Leon on behalf
of Pulman.
Natalie Wilson, Marketing Manager at Pulman SEAT, said: ‘SEAT had a number of fully-functional cars which couldn’t be registered for the roads for a variety of reasons and decided that, rather than recycling them, it would be far better to offer them to colleges and training providers that could make good use of them.

‘When they approached us and asked us if we could find a worthy recipient in the North East, the Gateshead College Automotive Academy immediately sprang to mind as we were well aware of the fantastic work they do here.

‘Hopefully, this donation will help the students on to fantastic futures in the automotive trade and motorsport, and help the college continue to develop the undoubted potential that exists in this region.’

Yesterday our Facebook winner Pat Jobson collected her prize from our Durham Showroom. Over 300 people entered our competition to win £50 worth of Odeon vouchers to be used anywhere in the UK.

As a proud Volkswagen owner and one of our regular customers, Pat Jobson started to follow us on facebook.

“Being Passat owners in the past, we are so pleased with our new Tiguan. After last winter we decided it was time for a 4 x 4 in December and it’s the best thing we’ve ever done. Our salesman Gavin Robinson was fantastic. There was only one used Tiguan in stock at the time and he got in touch straight away for us to come see it, it was perfect.”

“I’ve been a fan of the page for a while now, I saw the competition advertised but never thought I’d win. I never win anything”

The £50 Odeon Vouchers we presented are eligible for any Odeon Cinema in the UK. Our winner will be able to use them on anything in the Complex whether it be tickets to see the latest film, or to enjoy fantastic food and drink.

We asked Pat Jobson and her husband which film they were planning to go see with their vouchers,

“I would like to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean, having seen all the others I would like to see the fourth one and it’s coming out later this week”

As for our Facebook page, Pat Jobson commented:

“I think it’s great. Being Volkswagen customers it’s nice to see what the company is doing and especially what’s going on at Pulman.”

Soccer AM PM AM Smash World Record

In the words of their physiotherapist there was no way they should have been able to do what they did. But that didn’t stop the Soccer AM PM AM team smashing the Guinness World Record for the longest football game played.

After the organiser, Paul Newton, lost his father last year to Wegeners Granulomatosis, the team played in aid of raising awareness and money for the cause.

With a Previous Record of 36 hours the Soccer AM PM AM lads smashed the record by 4 hours. After 6 months of a rigorous training programme the game lasted for 40 hours with a grand total of 1,250 goals scored. The initial £5,000 target was blown away with over £7,500 raised by the time the game started on Friday and is still climbing.

Paul Newton said about the day; “We will all take away memories that will last forever and it was an amazing way to honour my dad’s life”

“I was overcome with emotion toward the end and it was all due to the thought of how many people had been so generous with their time, effort, cash and commitment.”

Not only did the team gain amazing support from the public but also from the local football club, Newcastle United.

Newcastle’s first team coach John Carver and Number One Keeper Steve Harper joined the Soccer AM PM AM team giving them some last minute advise and support. Even though football alliances may have lay elsewhere in the region the two made the day truly special for the team.

As sponsors of the team Pulman supplied the Soccer AM PM AM lads with their ‘Powered by Pulman’ training kits and official match strips.

Paul Newton commented “Without Pulman we couldn’t have done what we did and all thank you from the bottom of our hearts”

With less than £2,000 to make the new £10,000 target set, you can still donate money to the cause at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/SoccerAM...PM....AM

Pulman SEAT Facebook Winner receive's Prize

Last week we presented Rob Miller, our Facebook Competition winner with his prize. Over 300 people entered our April competition to win those exclusive Sports Bar Passes to Sunderland’s final home game.

Our winner Rob Miller came down to the Pulman SEAT showroom in Southwick to collect his prize.

As a SEAT owner himself, Rob Miller started to follow Pulman SEAT for our latest news and offers. He said;

“I became aware of the competition after receiving an update from the Facebook page”

“When the competition became popular I didn’t think I had a chance of winning but was pleased to hear I had”

As part of the exclusive passes, Rob Miller received padded halfway line seats, entrance to the SAFC Sports Bar and a reserved parking space. The two exclusive tickets also come with a match day programme and the option of dinner style dining before the game.

Being a SEAT Leon owner we asked what his ultimate SEAT would be, to which he answered;

“Probably top of the range of what I have now. I like the Leon’s because they are a good size for my family but still a really sporty and good looking car.”

As for what we could do to improve our page, our winner said

“More fun and games. It’s good to hear what’s happening with the brand too but more competitions would be great”

Our Next competition is due to run this month to win Kings of Leon tickets at the Stadium of Light, keep a look out for our latest updates on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

PULMAN SEAT GETS BEHIND SAFC FOUNDATION

Pulman SEAT has underlined its commitment to the community by announcing its backing for the SAFC Foundation.

Pulman SEAT in Burntland Avenue, Southwick, will support the important work of the Premiership club Sunderland’s official charity with a financial contribution.

The contribution will be put towards the Foundation’s efforts to harness the power of football and use it to run projects designed to to increase the motivation, educational attainment and personal skills of young people and their families throughout the region.  In addition, the dealership will also sponsor the Foundation’s Under 10s Irish team.

Announcing the sponsorship, Pulman SEAT Site Manager, Chris Slater, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to be able to support the fantastic work of the SAFC Foundation.

‘Everyone at the dealership lives in this community and we’ve all seen first-hand the brilliant work the Foundation does to help young people and families in the local area.

‘This sponsorship is a real source of pride for us and we look forward to playing our part in developing the community.’

Since its inception in 2001, the SAFC Foundation has made massive strides in tackling the problems of deprived areas, such as low educational standards, lack of achievement and aspirations, health issues and youth disorder.

Last year, the Foundation helped over 40,000 children and their families across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Durham through innovative projects, advancing literacy and numeracy and improving confidence and aspirations, as well as raising awareness of citizenship issues and improving employment skills.

Structurally and financially independent of Sunderland AFC, the SAFC Foundation relies on fundraising for 95% of project costs.

Lynsey Thompson, Head of Development at the SAFC Foundation, said: ‘We’re absolutely delighted that Pulman SEAT have chosen to support their community through our work.

‘The support of Pulman SEAT and our other community partners is invaluable and will help us to achieve that goal for the benefit of the whole region.’
